- ROLE: Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Support Worker
- LOCATION: The Chantry, LE3
- SALARY: £12.60 - £13.30* per hour
- HOURS: 42 hours a week
- SHIFTS: 8:00AM - 3:00PM / 3:00PM - 10:00PM / 10:00PM - 8:00AM / 8:00AM - 10:00PM
About The Chantry: At The Chantry we support people to develop coping techniques, which makes a noticeable difference to their everyday lives. We understand the importance of providing person‑centred support that enables independence and meets each individual’s specific needs. Through our outcomes focused approach, we support people to maintain choice and control of their own lives. We provide 24 hour support in a homely environment for up to 13 adults with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health needs.
What We Are Looking For In a Candidate
We are seeking candidates with experience in care, particularly with learning disabilities and mental health. The ideal person is proficient in IT, a proactive "go‑getter," and able to assist with cooking and daily living tasks. They should combine compassion, initiative, and practical skills to support individuals effectively.
Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day support and routine of the people we support.
- Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
- Supporting and encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
- Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
- Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills and shopping.
- Assisting with personal care as required.
- Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning and cooking.
- Providing guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
Experience within the care sector is not needed as we offer full training, coaching and development.
