Overview

Role: Female Support Worker

Hours: 30 hours per week

Location: Harrow, HA2

Salary: £12.60 – £13.30 per hour

Note: We require a Female support worker due to a genuine occupational requirement for the person we are supporting, making this position exempt from the gender discrimination rule.

At Accomplish, our supported living services in Harrow are designed to empower individuals to live more independently, while receiving the right level of support tailored to their needs. We work with each person to build confidence, learn new skills, and achieve personal goals in a place they can call home. Our London-based supported living services offer high-quality, safe, and welcoming environments in local communities across the capital. We support adults with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, autism, mental health conditions, and acquired brain injuries.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting and delivering a person-centred support culture across the service
  • Supporting people with all aspects of their daily living as per their support plan, which may include personal care and taking their medication
  • Supporting and coaching people to learn independent living skills such as cooking and laundry tasks
  • Supporting people to access the community for social, educational or employment opportunities
  • Safeguarding service users’ rights and dignity
  • Taking an active role in people’s support plans and risk assessments
  • Providing effective communication within the team and attending regular team and service user meetings
  • Liaising professionally with family members and other professionals

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities is preferred; transferable skills welcome
  • Commitment to a person-centred approach and safeguarding
  • Ability to support with daily living tasks and community participation
  • Eligible to work in the UK
