JOB ROLE: Support Worker / Care Assistant

LOCATION: Bryn Irfon, Llanwrtyd Wells (LD5)

SALARY: £14.05 - £14.75 per hour*

HOURS: 35 hours - 3 × 11.5 hour shifts per week

SHIFT PATTERNS: 08:30-21:00PM

This is a Day Support Worker role but will require covering nights and sleep-in shifts as and when needed. Please note, Bryn Irfon is in a rural location with very limited public transport; please ensure you would be able to travel to the home before applying. We require a Female Support Worker over the age of 18 due to a genuine occupational requirement for the people we are supporting.

About Bryn Irfon

At Bryn Irfon, we provide residential support for 8 adults with Learning Disabilities, challenging needs, and individuals with communication difficulties. We can also support people who may have Mental Health needs. We work with people with varied abilities and needs, encouraging and motivating each person to feel good about themselves, enabling them to gain confidence and lead happy and fulfilled lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day support and routine of the people we support.
  • Prompting independence whilst helping them live a fulfilling life.
  • Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests.
  • Maintaining and helping with health care needs, including accompanying the people we support to routine appointments or administering medication.
  • Teaching life skills such as budgeting, paying bills & shopping.
  • Assisting with personal care as required.
  • Assisting with domestic tasks including cleaning & cooking.
  • Providing guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support.
