Full-Time On-site

$27-$30 per hour + Part-time + Mon - Thurs

About the business

Our client is a busy Christchurch moving company that helps people with all sorts of moves, from first homes and family relocations to downsizing and everything in between. They are a hands‑on, down‑to‑earth team that works hard, has a laugh and looks after each other.

About the role

This is a part-time role of approximately 16–20 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with a 9am start and some flexibility around finishing times. There is also the potential to add on Friday in the new year.

We’re looking for a capable, organised administrator who’s great with people, confident on the phone and happy to take ownership of their work. Someone who can keep things running smoothly, follow things through and spot what needs doing without always being asked.

You’ll be the first point of contact for many of our customers, answering enquiries, following up leads and helping people through the early stages of organising their move.

No two conversations will be quite the same. Some customers will be excited about moving into their first home, while others might be feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to start. Reading the situation, asking the right questions, and making people feel comfortable will be a big part of your day.

You’ll work closely with the General Manager, handling day‑to‑day administration and helping ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Answering incoming calls and responding to customer enquiries
  • Following up new leads, quotes and outstanding enquiries
  • Talking customers through our services and helping them take the next step
  • Keeping customer records, notes and follow‑ups up to date in our CRM
  • Support with emails, messages, calendars, appointments and general office administration

About you

You don’t need to have worked in the moving industry before. What matters most to us is finding someone who is great with people, takes initiative and can be trusted to get things done.

You’ll be someone who enjoys a good conversation but also knows how to keep things moving. You’re organised, can think on your feet and don’t get flustered when things get busy.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Previous administration, customer service or similar experience
  • A friendly, confident and professional phone manner
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with different people
  • Good organisation, attention to detail and follow‑through
  • Initiative, common sense and the confidence to work independently

Most importantly, you’ll take pride in doing a good job, take ownership of your work, and don’t need constant reminders or follow‑ups to get things done.

What’s on offer?

  • $27–$30 per hour, depending on experience
  • Part-time hours: approximately 16 - 20 hours per week, Monday toThursday. With the potential to add on Friday in the new year.
  • Some flexibility around finishing times
  • A friendly, down-to-earth team that values good people
  • A supportive working environment where your contribution is appreciated
  • The opportunity to grow your responsibilities as you become more confident in the role

If you’re looking for a part-time role where you can use your people skills, stay busy and make a genuine contribution to a growing local business, we’d love to hear from you.
