Role Description

This is a full-time Engineering Technician role based in Golborne.

The Engineering Technician will assist in the installation, setup, and maintenance of monitoring and testing equipment on client sites, including stadiums and long span bridges.

Day-to-day tasks include assembling and soldering electronic components, configuring and operating test equipment, performing routine checks, and documenting test procedures and results.

The role involves troubleshooting technical issues, supporting the design and refinement of bespoke test solutions, and ensuring all work complies with relevant safety and quality standards.

The Engineering Technician will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and clients, requiring clear communication and a practical, hands‑on approach to fieldwork and office‑based tasks.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret test data, diagnose issues, and support solution development.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for clear reporting, documentation, and collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Candidates should possess solid Troubleshooting abilities to identify, investigate, and resolve technical problems in equipment and systems.
  • Candidates should possess practical skills for assembling, repairing, and modifying electronic components and connections.
  • Hands‑on experience with Test Equipment, is desirable but not essential, full training shall be given.
  • Relevant qualifications considered, good GCSEs, A-Levels, ideally engineering technician diploma, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience in electrical, mechanical, or instrumentation disciplines.
  • Consider candidates who possess relevant hobbies or interests e. g. car mechanics, 3D printing, design.
  • Proficiency with standard office software for data entry, reporting, and documentation; familiarity with data acquisition systems is an advantage.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required and to work in varying outdoor and industrial conditions.
  • Role will involve overnight stays when required
  • Working at heights, confined spaces, night shifts all occasionally required
