Driver Hire Canterbury is seeking a reliable, experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver for a temp-to-perm opportunity with our client based in Canterbury. This role offers an excellent opportunity to secure permanent employment. You will initially work for Driver Hire for 5 weeks, before transferring directly to our customer's employment, subject to successfully completing the initial period.

Transport steel from Canterbury to sites across the South
Operate a flatbed vehicle safely and professionally
Secure all loads using chains and straps
Work Monday to Friday — no weekend work
Typical shifts of 10–12 hours, starting at 06:00
Complete an initial 5-week period employed by Driver Hire before transitioning to permanent employment with the customer
Valid C+E (Class 1) licence held for at least 2 years
Minimum 60 days of recent commercial Class 1 experience
Confidence using chains and straps to secure loads
A professional, reliable and safety-focused attitude
During your initial 5 weeks with Driver Hire:
17.00–£19.05 per hour (PAYE)
Weekly pay every Friday
Minimum 8 hours' pay per day
Holiday pay (accrued or rolled up — your choice)

On xgikmsk joining the customer permanently after 5 weeks:
Annual salary of £40,750
47.5 hours per week
20 days' annual holiday, increasing to 25 days after 2 years' service
