Job Description Driver Hire Canterbury is seeking a reliable, experienced HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver for a temp-to-perm opportunity with our client based in Canterbury. This role offers an excellent opportunity to secure permanent employment. You will initially work for Driver Hire for 5 weeks, before transferring directly to our customer's employment, subject to successfully completing the initial period.\n \n \n Transport steel from Canterbury to sites across the South \n Operate a flatbed vehicle safely and professionally \n Secure all loads using chains and straps \n Work Monday to Friday — no weekend work \n Typical shifts of 10–12 hours, starting at 06:00 \n Complete an initial 5-week period employed by Driver Hire before transitioning to permanent employment with the customer \n \n \n \n Valid C+E (Class 1) licence held for at least 2 years \n Minimum 60 days of recent commercial Class 1 experience \n Confidence using chains and straps to secure loads \n A professional, reliable and safety-focused attitude \n \n \n \n During your initial 5 weeks with Driver Hire: \n 17.00–£19.05 per hour (PAYE) \n Weekly pay every Friday \n Minimum 8 hours' pay per day \n Holiday pay (accrued or rolled up — your choice) \n Pension scheme \n Free on-site parking \n On joining the customer permanently after 5 weeks: \n Annual salary of £40,750 \n 47.5 hours per week \n 20 days' annual holiday, increasing to 25 days after 2 years' service \n The opportunity to secure a permanent position with a well-established customer \n \n \n- Hours: Monday–Friday | 06:00 starts | 10–12 hour shifts - Initial Pay: £17.00–£19.05 per hour (PAYE) | Weekly pay | Minimum 8 hours paid daily - Permanent\n \n JBRP1_UKTJ
