Summary Of Job: Responsible for repair, preparation and minor overhaul of forklift trucks.
Position Requirements:
- Repairing Forklift Trucks
- Repair of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components
- Repairing hydraulic valves and rams
- Repairing final drive and gearbox components
- Repairing engines and components
- Servicing Forklift Trucks
- Responsible for servicing gas, diesel and electric powered forklift trucks
- Using a check sheet, checking that the brakes are fully functional, and that the lifting equipment and steering are in correct working order
- Changing the oil and filters as necessary
- Thorough Examinations pending qualifications
- Carry out Preventative Maintenance, such as lubricating steering and lifting equipment.
- Overhaul of Forklift Trucks
- Responsible for completing a partial strip-down of gas, diesel, or electric forklift trucks
- Responsible for preparing, steam cleaning or painting the chassis of forklift trucks
- Responsible for bolting / welding on ancillaries to the chassis'
- Battery Maintenance
- Check voltages and gravities of forklift trucks, using meters and hydrometers.
- New and Used Equipment Preparation
- Responsible for the preparation of gas, diesel and electric forklift trucks by performing pre-delivery inspections (PDI's), using a check-sheet from the manufacturer to check the specifications to meet the customer's requirements, along with overseeing the despatch and receipt of trucks in and out of the Depot.
- Engineer Paperwork
- Responsible for completion of weekly timesheet
- Completing job sheets on a daily basis to record progress on repairs.
