We’re proud suppliers to an extensive list of distinguished customers across the UK and Ireland. We have a vacancy for a Driver Trainer Manager to join our team in Purfleet. Summary of Job: Taking responsibility for the day to day running of the operational side of the Driver Training Department and all that it entails. Duties: * To develop, expand and grow the Acclaim Handling driver training department. * Recruitment of new driver trainer staff when necessary, including writing of job description and advert, induction of staff and training. * Maintain & develop the RTITB accreditation (audits, training records, certification etc.) to ensure it is at the standard that the RTITB require. * Ensure the department is prepared for the annual RTITB audit. * Keep up to date with legislation and any changes that may arise to training and Health & Safety. * Make sure all customers and their requirements are dealt with correctly and resolve any problems promptly. * Look after key accounts. * Develop driver trainer instructors’ skills, ensuring their certification and training is up to date. * Liaise with driver trainer admin to aid the smooth running of the department. * Deal with any topics that may arise, staff, company vehicles, etc. * Manage absences that might occur within the team of driver trainers, e.g. sickness (conducting return to work interviews) and arrange cover where necessary. * Conduct Appraisals and pay reviews for the team of driver trainers annually. * Conduct driver training sessions as and when required. * Liaise with other departments as required. Desirable Skills/Experience: * Fork truck driver experience. * Managerial experience essential * RTITB instructor qualification. * RTITB train the trainer qualification or willingness to train for it. * Health & Safety knowledge and qualification.
