The Company Accident Credit Group (ACG) is the UK’s leading specialist insurance claims funding partner for the bodyshop industry. Operating at the vital intersection of fintech, motor claims infrastructure, and credit management, ACG processes over 4,500 invoices a month. We provide critical, niche B2B working capital solutions including Authorised Funding, Advanced Funding, and Credit Repair facilities to bodyshops, credit hire firms and accident management companies across the UK. By eliminating the 90-to-180-day cash flow friction typical of insurer settlement cycles, ACG empowers our partners to scale. As we enter our next phase of strategic growth, we are looking for a high-calibre Senior Recoveries Handler.
The Senior Recovery Handler plays a pivotal role in driving recoveries performance by identifying the root causes of payment delays, resolving barriers to settlement, and taking confident ownership of complex recovery activity. This position focuses on delivering timely, accurate and tenacious follow-up with insurers, customers and internal stakeholders to improve outcomes and support ACG’s cash-flow objectives.
You will:
- Drive strong recoveries performance through proactive case management, clear prioritisation and focused follow-up on overdue payments.
- Investigate payment delays, identify root causes and take ownership of resolving issues quickly and effectively.
- Act as a confident problem solver, escalating only where necessary and bringing practical solutions to complex recovery challenges.
- Maintain regular, professional communication with insurers, customers and internal teams to remove blockers and secure timely outcomes.
- Use data, system notes and recovery activity to spot trends, highlight risks and support continuous improvement in recovery performance.
- Take a self-motivated and organised approach to workload management, ensuring actions are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
- Demonstrate tenacity and resilience when pursuing outstanding payments, while maintaining professionalism and strong working relationships.
- Support the Head of Department by contributing insight, raising concerns early and helping maintain high operational standards.
- Be adaptable to the needs of the business, offering support across functions as operational demands evolve.
You will thrive in this role if you bring:
- Experience within the insurance sector, with a strong understanding of claims, recoveries or dispute resolution.
- A track record of managing payment queries, resolving delays and achieving positive recovery outcomes.
- Confidence in investigating issues, identifying root causes and taking practical action to resolve them.
- A self-motivated, tenacious and resilient approach, with the drive to follow tasks through to completion.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage professionally with insurers, customers and colleagues at all levels.
- Attention to detail, sound judgement and an organised working style.
- Comfort with Microsoft applications and general IT systems.
- A customer-first mindset and commitment to quality, accurate and timely outcomes.
Qualifications
- GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade Level 4 or C equivalent).
