About the Role
You will make English relevant to our young people, through your inclusive lesson planning and delivery. You will mark and assess learner work, setting high expectations and motivating them to be the best that they can be. You will have an understanding of methods and good practice in reviewing and evaluating teaching & learning and behaviour management strategies. Be prepared to make English exciting and relevant through your inclusive lesson plans, setting high expectations, and motivating our learners to be the best they can be.
About you
You will be a role model, providing learners with an exceptional educational experience that will enable them to maximise their potential. You will have up-to-date knowledge and an understanding of the GCSE English curriculum and experience with exam board requirements. You will hold GCSE English and English GCSEs at Grade 5 (or equivalent) or above and you will have a degree in a related subject. A teaching qualification is desirable but if you don't have one, Access Sport will fund and support you to get one. A successful track record of delivering GCSE English would be the icing on the cake, however, this could be an ideal development opportunity for a newly qualified teacher or English graduate looking to get into teaching.
You will work with experienced, passionate tutors as well as within a support service provided by our Central Team. Working at Access Sport means working with learners who are engaged and enthusiastic about the education they are gaining. You will not necessarily meet every single qualification. Who is Access Sport?
Originally established in 2006 and formerly known as Coaching Connexions, Access Sport was created in 2019 following a merger with the biggest private training provider in the country Access Creative College (formerly Access to Music). We are part of Access Education Group which boasts 32 campuses nationwide with over 5,000 students & apprentices across ACC, dBs Institute (Higher Education) & Access Sport. We're an Ofsted 'Good' provider.
We provide our players' teams with links to professional clubs/ academies as well as Semi-Professional clubs at various levels. At each of our campuses/sites we employ tutors, coaches and various other roles to support the development of our students/ players. With weekly fixtures in various college league formats (AOC/ EFL/ National Youth Alliance) and daily training sessions, taken from a dedicated curriculum, we aim to provide our students with the most realistic elite sporting environment.
In return, staff will receive regular CPD via experienced practitioners, access to the best industry-related technology (VEO/ Sports session planner/ Catapult GPS vests) and an opportunity to work alongside and against professional clubs to build/ enhance your Footballing and Teaching CV. This extends to international competitions and tours to Europe, USA and Asia. Access Sport will help you to develop personally and professionally, we provide competitive salaries and expenses for travel.
