We are seeking an experienced and visionary Technical Director in Mechanical Engineering to join our leadership team. This is a pivotal role where you will guide technical delivery, champion innovation, and inspire multi-disciplinary teams on some of the UK's and the world's most transformational infrastructure programmes.

As Technical Director, you will:
- Take responsibility for the technical delivery and safety of mechanical engineering across complex projects and programmes.
- Act as a subject matter expert, setting strategic direction for bids, projects, and design excellence.
- Drive an agenda of continuous improvement, embedding quality assurance and industry-leading standards in every project.
- Collaborate with colleagues in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary design solutions.
- Build, grow, and lead mechanical engineering capability across the business, fostering innovation and best practice.
- Serve as a trusted partner for clients, providing strategic guidance and shaping sustainable, cost-effective solutions.
Experience required
We're looking for someone with the expertise, credibility, and drive to lead at the highest levels. Ideally, you will have:
- Chartered or Fellow status with a recognised engineering institution (e.g. IMechE).
- Recognised leadership within mechanical engineering, with influence at both national and international levels.
- Experience in multidisciplinary project integration and coordination.
- In-depth technical knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems (e.g. pumps, blowers, screens, dosing plants) and thorough understanding of UK design standards and industry practices.
- A proven ability to inspire, mentor, and lead teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
- A strategic and transformational mindset, with a strong track record of delivering sustainable solutions.
