About the Role
The Soil Scientist role requires a seasoned professional who can bring both technical expertise and strategic leadership in the areas of soil assessment and sustainable management. In this position, you will lead assessments related to agricultural soils, as well as support multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from conception to completion. You’ll be responsible for engaging with clients, stakeholders, regulators, and contractors, providing comprehensive guidance to ensure project goals are met. Additional responsibilities include health and safety compliance, mentoring junior staff, and continually advancing your skills to stay at the forefront of soil science best practices. Projects include the development of Cities, Transportation, Water, Defence and Energy infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Soil Science, or a related field
  • Chartered status, or nearing chartership completion
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting soil surveys, with proficiency in accurately describing soil profiles, conducting hand texturing, and collecting and interpreting soil samples
  • Proven experience leading projects or client work in agricultural or infrastructure settings
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to health and safety standards, including experience in preparing and managing health and safety plans
