A leading consultancy operating across the water and environmental infrastructure sector is seeking an experienced Senior or Principal Electrical / EICA Engineer to support the delivery of sustainable, resilient and future-focused projects. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to major infrastructure programmes across the UK, helping to address environmental and efficiency challenges while supporting the transition to a more sustainable future.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, providing electrical, instrumentation, control and automation expertise across the full project lifecycle. This includes feasibility studies, option development, concept design, detailed design and support during construction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing EICA design deliverables including specifications, reports, schedules and drawings.
- Producing documentation such as Single Line Diagrams, cable block diagrams and network architecture layouts.
- Working closely with mechanical, civil and process engineers to produce coordinated design outputs (e.g., P&IDs, 3D models, general arrangement drawings).
- Contributing to and leading technical reviews, design workshops, HAZOPs and technical presentations.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, supply chain partners and other stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
- Supporting and mentoring junior engineers, contributing to capability development within the team.
You will bring:
- A degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered or Incorporated status, or working towards professional accreditation.
- Experience in EICA design within the water sector, or in aligned industries such as energy, infrastructure or industrial facilities.
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills including specifications and control philosophies.
- Proficiency in the production and review of electrical drawings and system documentation.
- Understanding of relevant standards and frameworks; knowledge of DSEAR requirements is an advantage.
- Strong communication collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- A proactive and supportive approach to mentoring junior team members.
