Civil & Structural Engineering, Transport Infrastructure
We are seeking a skilled Engineer or Senior Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join a consultancy in Wigan, United Kingdom. As a key member of our Civil Engineering Design firm, you will be responsible for designing infrastructure projects, reviewing and project managing projects while mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in civil engineering and be passionate about learning and developing towards chartership.
Responsibilities
- Design infrastructure projects
- Review and project manage projects while mentoring junior staff
- Take ownership in your team and help mentor junior staff
- Liaise with clients and stakeholders
- Manage workload and meet deadlines
- Ensure designs meet client expectations and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc or BEng) in Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- 5 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on infrastructure design and project management from a UK consultancy
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D / PDS, Microdrainage / Info Drainage PDS and other design tools
- On track to or have obtained IEng or CEng status
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards, codes, and guidelines related to infrastructure design and construction
- Excellent report writing skills with some experience of flood risk assessments (FRA)
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Take ownership in your team and help mentor junior staff
- Review designs and project work to the highest standard to deliver on the client’s expectations
- Liaise with clients and Stakeholders
- Ability to manage workload and work to tight deadlines
