Our client are an specialist M&E contractor, with Data Centres being a core sector of their business in the UK and across mainland Europe. You\’ll work on high-value projects working directly with blue-chip clients. We are looking for a mechanical supervisor with a strong background in piping. You\’ll manage all piping activity on-site working on Data Centre projects in the UK. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working in the Data Centre industry, with a strong pipeline of projects over the next 5 years.

With the project based in the UK, rotations are available if required. Our client are offering a highly competitive salary, accommodation and all travel covered.

Key Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised mechanical trade qualification or relevant engineering degree (Mechanical Engineering, Pipefitting, or similar).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in supervising mechanical piping installations on large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven track record in data centres, power plants, oil & gas, pharmaceuticals, or other mission-critical facilities.

Technical Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong understanding of piping systems, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and mechanical installation methods.
  • Experience in working with carbon steel, stainless steel, HDPE, and copper piping systems.
  • Knowledge of welding, bolting, flanges, and mechanical jointing techniques.
  • Familiarity with hydrostatic testing, flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning of piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Working knowledge of health & safety regulations, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS).

Site & Project Management

  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and lead a team of pipefitters, welders, and subcontractors.
  • Experience in managing site progress, quality control, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills to identify and resolve installation issues and technical challenges.
  • Proficiency in tracking material deliveries, ensuring correct specifications and quantities.
  • Coordination with MEP teams, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of piping works.
