The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

Access Talent Group are working with a Client who are looking at bringing in a number of consultants from different civil backgrounds to investigate the causes or likely causes of incidents such as fires, engineering failures and accidents and provide prompt and accurate advice to the client to assist in determining liability.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out thorough site based investigations (both in the UK and abroad)
  • Gather and accurately record the available evidence
  • Carry out and amend risk assessments as appropriate prior to and during scene examinations
  • Obtain and record relevant information from witnesses and other sources
  • Produce brief preliminary reports to clients promptly and in line with internal and external Service Level Agreements
  • Communicate with clients regularly to keep them updated on the progress of investigations
  • Conduct detailed examinations and analysis of failed equipment or components
  • Devise and carry out testing of components and materials
  • Undertake enquiries, either over the telephone or by using the internet or other resources (e.g. library)
  • Review technical information including that contained in manuals, maintenance records and drawings and that recorded by official bodies such as the Police, the Fire Brigade and the HSE
  • Appraise own work critically to highlight any weaknesses
  • Obtain appropriate internal peer review
  • Analyse information from other investigators or consultants
  • Be prepared to argue case with other experts and lawyers
  • Prepare reports for Court proceedings
  • Attend client meetings and provide expert witness evidence in Court
  • Accept responsibility for self-development in order to maximise personal performance potential
  • Manage casework to provide an appropriate, efficient and effective service to the clients
  • Keep clear and complete case records
  • Prepare case invoices for processing by the Accounts Department at appropriate times
  • Maintain work in progress at or below target
  • Ensure exhibits are taken where appropriate, identified, recorded on the appropriate system, retained if appropriate and disposed of when it is right to do so
  • Assist with training of new recruits
  • Conduct Site Audits as required by the Regional Manager
  • Develop good working relationships with clients and assist with the marketing activities of the company
