ATG are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Geo-Environmental Consultant to join our growing Dublin-based team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering contaminated land and geotechnical assessments for a wide range of infrastructure, property, and redevelopment projects across Ireland and the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Phase 1 and Phase 2 site investigations, including planning, execution, and reporting.
- Conduct contaminated land risk assessments in line with EPA guidance and best practice.
- Provide geotechnical input to projects, including foundation and ground improvement recommendations.
- Design and manage fieldwork investigations, including supervising subcontractors and ensuring health & safety compliance.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, interpret laboratory data, and make clear recommendations.
- Support project and financial management, including budget tracking and client communication.
- Liaise with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders, providing expert advice and guidance.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to their professional development.
- Assist in business development activities including tender preparation and client presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in geo-environmental consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of Irish and UK environmental legislation, waste classification, and remediation techniques.
- Experience in managing multidisciplinary site investigations and writing technical reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with geotechnical and environmental software tools (e.g., HoleBASE, gINT, LEAP, or similar).
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Chartered status (e.g., CGeol, CEng, CIWEM, or equivalent), or working towards chartership.
- Experience with groundwater and gas risk assessments.
- Familiarity with planning and permitting processes in Ireland.
