We are seeking an Experienced Construction Estimator to join a leading Main Contractor based near Reading. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in take-offs, package preparation, and estimating across cut and carve, civils, structural, envelope, and refurbishment projects. This is a hybrid role with flexible working arrangements, allowing up to 3-4 days WFH if required. Ideally, the candidate will be based within an hour’s commute of our office, but we are open to finding the right person regardless of location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, take-offs, and package preparation
  • Work across D&B, healthcare, commercial, technology, and light industrial/manufacturing projects
  • Accurately price projects valued between £1m - £15m; build and maintain strong relationships with the supply chain in the region
  • Support bid and tender processes with detailed cost analysis
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure cost-effective solutions

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ experience in estimating within a main contracting background
  • Strong knowledge of cut & carve, civils, structural, envelope, and refurbishment
  • Experience working on design & build (D&B) projects
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong IT proficiency, including estimating software and Excel
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ideally based within 1 hour of Reading, but remote flexibility available

Salary & Benefits

  • Car Allowance: £6,000 p/a OR access to an EV salary sacrifice company car scheme
  • Annual Bonus: 10% of salary (based on company & personal performance)
  • Pension: 4% employer contribution
  • BUPA Healthcare Cover (subject to acceptance)
  • Annual Leave: 25 days (including Christmas shutdown) + Public & Bank Holidays
