We are seeking an experienced candidate for a senior appointment, reporting directly to the Partners, with a strong working knowledge of development planning (transport) with proven project management skills, ideally with a record of managing and developing commercial client relationships and with around ten years’ postgraduate experience.
Candidate Profile
- Circa 10 years transport planning background in a development planning role.
- Sound technical skills/knowledge in the transport planning field (e.g. Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, access appraisals, highway design, modelling etc.).
- Technical knowledge and proficiency in all relevant industry software (e.g. TRICS, TEMPRO, Junctions 10).
- Experience in the successful delivery of multiple projects of varying scales and complexity, including the management/leading of project teams.
- Strong communication skills, including representing clients at meetings with stakeholders.
- Experience in attending public consultations and/or Inquiries.
- Experience of developing and maintaining client relationships and business contacts.
- Chartered Member of a relevant and recognised professional institution.
Responsibilities
- Providing high quality technical transport and highways advice on numerous development planning projects.
- Planning and managing projects including setting and meeting deadlines/budgets alongside providing a high-quality product.
- Responsibility for contributing to the commercial success of the business and managing/developing key client relationships.
- Providing input to the business management team including developing business plans and delivering the agreed targets.
- Taking responsibility for specific aspects of the day-to-day running of the Basingstoke/London office including dealing with administrative/non-technical issues alongside technical projects.
- Establishing and maintaining excellent internal and external relationships, ensuring effective communication of objectives and plans both orally and in writing, including providing coaching/mentoring to junior members of staff.
