To deliver high quality sport and education provision, supporting learners through teaching, coaching, assessment, and pastoral guidance while contributing to the effective running of the course team.
Responsibilities
- Teaching, Coaching & Assessment: Deliver engaging classroom and practical sport sessions; Support learners with portfolios, assignments and progress reviews; Carry out initial assessments and set SMART targets; Track and monitor learner progress using internal systems and ILPs.
- Pastoral & Progression: Act as personal tutor for learners, supporting academic and personal development; Support progression into employment, apprenticeships or higher education; Liaise with parents, employers and internal teams to maintain engagement; Identify and support at risk learners.
- Course Delivery & Quality: Plan and deliver inclusive coaching sessions and enrichment activities; Contribute to quality improvement and share good practice; Use learner feedback to improve delivery; Promote teamwork, discipline and healthy lifestyles.
- Resources & Team Working: Use and manage resources effectively to support learning; Contribute to course organisation and learner experience; Work collaboratively across the team to meet targets.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 qualification in Sport Coaching and Development (or equivalent).
- Teaching qualification at Level 4 or above (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience working in Further Education or with post-16 learners.
- Experience delivering sport-related teaching or coaching.
- Knowledge of curriculum requirements and awarding bodies.
- Understanding of learner support needs, including barriers to learning.
- Awareness of equality, diversity and inclusive practice.
