Course Leader – Sports

About the role: We are seeking a Course Leader/Tutor Coach to support the delivery of a high quality sports curriculum, lead a course team, and contribute to the achievement, retention and success of learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Deliver teaching within the annual contracted hours; support high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
  • Course

Leadership: Lead and support the course team to achieve objectives; develop schemes of work, course materials and resources; organise and oversee assessment, moderation and verification activities; monitor learner progress and implement support for learners where required; contribute to quality assurance, self assessment and continuous improvement activities.

  • Football

Coaching: Plan and deliver a clear football curriculum; support and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs); provide players with regular competitive fixtures and performance feedback; contribute to player recruitment activities; record and analyse performance using VEO and Catapult.

  • Learner

Support: Monitor learner achievement, retention and satisfaction; provide timely feedback to learners and parents/guardians; support recruitment, interviews and learner assessment processes.

Essential Requirements

  • Level 3 Sport Coaching and Development qualification.
  • UEFA B Licence minimum.
  • Teaching qualification at Level 4 or above.
  • Experience working in Further Education and with post-16 learners.
  • Successful teaching experience within the relevant subject area.
  • Knowledge of curriculum requirements, assessment and learner support.
  • Strong organisational, communication and IT skills.
  • Ability to lead and support a course team.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity and continuous professional development.
  • Suitable to work with children and young people.
