About the Role

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Quality Manager with a strong background in civil engineering projects. This role will be responsible for ensuring all works are delivered in line with quality standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing quality assurance processes across civil projects, ensuring documentation is maintained correctly, inspections are completed, and works are delivered right first time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project quality management procedures
  • Ensure all civil works are completed in accordance with specifications, drawings, and client requirements
  • Manage Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, and sign-off documentation
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards
  • Identify non-conformances and implement corrective actions
  • Work closely with site teams to improve quality performance and reduce defects
  • Ensure all QA/QC documentation is completed and maintained accurately
  • Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams regarding quality matters
  • Support project handovers by ensuring all quality documentation is complete
  • Monitor lessons learned and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quality Manager, QA Manager, or Senior Quality Engineer within civil engineering projects
  • Strong background in civils projects such as roads, drainage, groundworks, utilities, highways, rail, infrastructure, or reinforced concrete works
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and compliance requirements
  • Experience managing ITPs, NCRs, audits, and quality documentation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Valid CSCS Card – Required
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards is highly desirable
  • SMSTS certification desirable
