Do you enjoy climbing, the outdoors, tools, equipment, or simply making sure things are organised and ready for action? We’re looking for a Stores & Equipment Assistant to help keep our specialist rope access operations running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for preparing vehicles, managing equipment, supporting inspections and helping ensure our teams have everything they need to safely look after the places our clients can’t see. This isn’t an office job. You’ll spend your time working with climbing and work-at-height equipment, preparing vehicles, organising stores, managing inventory and helping ensure our operational teams can work safely, efficiently and compliantly.

The Role

You’ll play an important part in creating the “bookends” of the working week. Mondays are about making sure our teams leave with the right equipment, tools and materials. Fridays are about turning vehicles around, checking equipment back in, restocking stores and making sure everything is ready for the next challenge. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Packing and preparing vehicles for upcoming projects
  • Unloading and turning around vehicles when they return from site
  • Checking climbing and rope access equipment in and out of stores
  • Restocking equipment, PPE, tools and consumables
  • Carrying out inventory checks and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Supporting LOLER inspections and equipment certification processes
  • Logging equipment movements, inspections and maintenance records using our digital systems
  • Identifying damaged, missing or expired equipment
  • Keeping stores, workshop and yard areas clean, organised and safe
  • Helping maintain our high standards of safety, compliance and operational readiness

This is a physically active role and will involve lifting, carrying and moving equipment on a regular basis.

About You

You’ll probably:

  • Enjoy practical, hands‑on work
  • Take pride in keeping things organized
  • Like tools, equipment and understanding how things work
  • Be comfortable using digital systems and apps
  • Be physically fit and happy working on your feet
  • Be reliable and trustworthy
  • Enjoy working independently and taking ownership of your responsibilities
  • Be comfortable spending periods of time working alone while staying focused and productive

It would be great if you have:

  • An interest in climbing, mountaineering, rope access or the outdoors
  • Experience with tools, equipment or workshop environments
  • Experience in stores, logistics or inventory management
  • An appreciation for safety, inspections and looking after specialist equipment

If you’re the sort of person who enjoys tinkering, organizing, maintaining equipment and making sure everything is exactly where it should be, we’d love to hear from you.

Hours

We’re particularly looking for someone who can work Mondays and Fridays, with additional hours available depending on workload and business needs. Monday and Friday, 09:00 – 16:00. We can be flexible on working hours for the right person, but we’re specifically looking for someone who can commit to both Mondays and Fridays, as these are important “bookend” days that help keep our operations running smoothly.
