Role Overview:
We’re seeking a skilled and proactive Accountant to join our finance team. This role combines tactical financial expertise with strategic insight, offering the opportunity to manage day-to-day accounting tasks while contributing to high-level planning alongside our CFO. Based in our London office, you’ll play a key role in ensuring financial accuracy and supporting the growth of our consulting and digital product streams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tactical:
- Prepare accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Utilise accounting platforms like Xero (and others) to gather, process, and reconcile financial data efficiently.
- Run management reports to provide timely insights into business performance for internal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with UK financial regulations and maintain up-to-date records for audits.
- Process payroll, invoicing, and expense reimbursements as needed.
- Strategic:
- Partner with the CFO to develop budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial strategies.
- Analyse financial trends to support decision-making for both our consulting services and digital product offerings.
- Contribute to cost optimisation initiatives and identify opportunities for financial efficiency.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to support business expansion and investment decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience as an accountant, ideally with exposure to both tactical and strategic financial tasks.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Xero experience preferred) and strong Excel skills.
- A solid understanding of UK accounting standards and regulations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, including the CFO, to align financial goals with business strategy.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, balanced with a proactive, big-picture mindset.
- Experience in a consulting or tech-driven business is a plus but not required.
