The successful applicant will lead and inspire the next generation of music talent through their planning and delivery of the music curriculum. The role includes the marking and assessment of student projects, setting high expectations and motivating our students to be the best that they can be. You will be a role model, providing our students with innovative, practical and employment-led training. You will collaborate with others to share best practices and ensure that our learners get the highest quality experience. You will work amongst experienced, passionate tutors as well as within a support service provided by our Central Team. As Course Leader for Music Production at our Lincoln campus you will lead and inspire the next generation of music technologists and producers. You will have full responsibility for guiding the delivery of a high-quality, industry-relevant music production programme, ensuring that students engage, develop technical proficiency and progress to employment or further study. You will work closely with other tutors, support staff and external partners to deliver creative, practical and assessment-led provision, and you will actively contribute to the strategic development of the music provision.

Main Objectives

  • To contribute to the successful delivery of curricula within the Music Production/Technology subject area
  • To plan, design, develop, produce and deliver educational programmes and teaching/assessment materials across a range of modules within the subject area(s)
  • To engage in subject, professional and/or pedagogy scholarship, enterprise, research and/or innovation activity.
  • To inspire young people within a variety of music genres.

Qualifications:

  • A degree (BA/BSC) in Music Production & Recording or a relevant subject area (essential)
  • A formal teaching qualification at level 4 (CTLLS or equivalent) or above (desirable)

Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience working in education (desirable)
  • Experience working with different levels e.g. Level 2 and 3 (desirable)
  • A demonstrable record of success in previous roles.
  • Significant experience teaching Music
  • Knowledge of Digital Audio Workstations (preferably Logic Pro) and music production techniques
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the subject area, syllabus requirements and appropriate teaching techniques; an awareness of requirements of awarding bodies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanisms for the identification assessment and support of learner needs
  • Understanding of equality and diversity within the curriculum, barriers to learning and strategies to overcome these
