We are seeking a dedicated Installation & Service Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our reputation for excellence.

Job Summary: We are looking for a skilled Installation & Service Engineer to install, maintain, and repair a range of security and automation systems, including automated gates, barriers, bollards, door automation, CCTV, access control systems, and intercoms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in gate automation, strong technical skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and test automated gates, barriers, bollards, door automation systems, CCTV, access control systems (e.g., keypads, card readers, biometric systems), and intercoms to meet client specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on security and automation systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software issues.
  • Integrate CCTV, access control, and intercom systems with gate and barrier automation when required.
  • Liaise with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure satisfaction with installed systems.
  • Ensure all work adheres to health and safety regulations, industry standards (e.g., DHF, BS EN), and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, service visits, and system configurations.
  • Collaborate with team members and subcontractors to complete projects on time.
  • Manage tools, equipment, and inventory to ensure readiness for all job requirements.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in installing and servicing at least two of the following: automated gates, barriers, bollards, door automation, CCTV, or access control systems. Gate automation experience is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Strong fault-finding abilities and familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems, wiring, and mechanical components (e.g., motors, actuators).
  • Safety Certification: Gate automation safety ticket (e.g., DHF Gate Safety Diploma) is highly desirable but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
  • Electrical Knowledge: Electrical qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Communication: Excellent customer service skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to clients.
  • Physical Fitness: Comfortable working at heights, lifting equipment, and performing physically demanding tasks.
  • Driving License: Valid UK driving license required.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with intercom systems and IP-based CCTV systems.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems used in barriers and bollards.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific software for system configuration and diagnostics.
