Requirements

  • Strong senior-level Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience.
  • Recent experience working within central government.
  • Strong Oracle Database technologies experience, including RAC, Data Guard, and RMAN backup and recovery.
  • Experience with public cloud technologies, particularly OCI and AWS.
  • Ability to write Infrastructure as Code.
  • Experience debugging Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience managing and maintaining security procedures in public cloud environments.
  • Experience implementing network segregation in a public cloud environment, preferably AWS.
  • Experience incorporating transport encryption to protect data in transit, preferably Oracle.
  • Understanding of database encryption options, preferably Oracle.
  • Experience conducting migration testing, preferably across Oracle and AWS.
  • Experience implementing secure authentication with OIDC for GitLab runners.

Responsibilities

  • Work onsite 3 days per week in either Blackpool or Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, with 2 days remote.
  • Work through an umbrella company for the duration of the contract, as the role is inside IR35.
  • Support and maintain OCI environments at a senior level.
  • Manage Oracle Database technologies and related backup and recovery processes.
  • Develop and debug Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in public cloud environments.
  • Support network segregation, transport encryption, and database encryption measures.
  • Carry out migration testing across Oracle and AWS environments.
  • Implement secure OIDC authentication for GitLab runners.
