Our client, an award-winning Japanese ramen brand, is urgently seeking a Head/Senior Chef.
Role and Responsibilities
The Chef will typically undertake the duties of the BOH Team Leader and be responsible for:
- Motivating staff and creating a positive atmosphere for colleagues and customers.
- Managing and organizing training plans for the team and ensuring all new starter paperwork is completed.
- Addressing team issues such as attendance, lateness, performance, and personality clashes.
- Ensuring strict adherence to food safety and health & safety procedures, including pest control, accurate completion of due diligence paperwork, and training BOH Team Leaders.
- Managing stock accurately.
- Presenting and following up on maintenance issues in the kitchen, liaising with the General Manager and Operations Manager for solutions.
- Seeking support from the Operations Manager when needed.
- Understanding procedures for managing unplanned Environmental Health issues and helping the company achieve a 5-star Hygiene rating.
- Performing other duties as requested by senior management.
Experience/Skills required
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical duties during shifts.
- Knowledge of Japanese food is essential.
