An unique opportunity for Japanese speakers who are passionate about promoting and developing new business opportunities for both Japanese and UK/European corporations.

The Investment & Innovation Department carries out three projects:

  • Local companies’ expansion into Japan
  • Promotion of open innovation between local startups and Japanese companies
  • Support for Japanese start-ups to expand into the UK

In this work, we aim to promote open innovation and innovation among Japanese companies in fields such as carbon neutrality, digital, and healthcare, mainly targeting the EMEA region.

Job descriptions include:

  • Assistance with the development of services across Europe to create and deepen open innovation projects by Japanese companies in Europe
  • Support for business formation events to promote innovation in Europe and Africa, including selecting speakers, attracting customers, and public relations
  • Gathering and organizing information on promoting innovation in Europe, such as promising projects, discovering stakeholders, and collecting related news/information
  • Discussions, coordination, and reporting with relevant departments at Headquarters in Japan
  • General affairs related to operations, such as obtaining appointments, coordinating with business operators regarding business trips/events, and preparing internal approval documents
  • Support for other operations that need to be handled within the department

Requirements:

  • Business level of both Japanese and English
  • Work experience within a corporate business environment
  • A thorough understanding of social, cultural, and business customs in the UK
  • Communication skills to build good relationships with potential local businesses
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Salesforce

Conditions:

  • On-going full-time temporary contract to start with
  • Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
  • Salary – equivalent to £25-26,000 per annum
