Overview of role
Purpose of the role
There are no people management elements to this role. You will be dynamic, confident, and driven with excellent communication skills. You will have a natural ability to build effective relationships and influence key colleagues across the organisation. The role will take the lead and become the expert responsible for systems. These will be agreed with each person and could include several of: core systems, functional systems, automation, data, integration and security.
You will analyse our business systems and associated data, gain a deep understanding and work with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and implement improvements. A deep understanding of systems and data will be key. As the subject matter expert, you will analyse our systems and create a roadmap for improvement. These initiatives once agreed will be implemented directly and through the management of external providers and business resources. Flexibility is essential and you will be comfortable working on changes large and small, either directly or while leading a team of resources. Improvements will be varied, and you will be able to run several work packages simultaneously. This role is responsible for business process improvement and system enhancement. More than just managing technology, you will be an expert in understanding process and working with our business to identify improvements, create a compelling business case for change and then delivering projects against them. You will constantly seek to make systems operate faster, with greater functionality and enhanced security.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Microsoft 365 certification highly desirable
- Microsoft Data and AI certification highly desirable
- Project management highly desirable
- SQL Administration certification desirable
- Business Analysis desirable
Essential skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting and managing systems in a similar business context
- In depth knowledge of systems, data and integration and the associated principles
- Highly skilled in the analysis and manipulation of data
- Ability to build accurate and visually compelling reporting using tools such as Power BI
- Experience creating requirements specification and taking them to market for solutions
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft products, particularly Office 365 and Microsoft Power
- The use of automation technology to improve business processes would be a distinct advantage
- A good general knowledge of end user technologies, e.g. PC’s, Audio Visual, Mobile Phones, Telephone systems
- A broad understanding of technology and a good level of awareness of technical concepts
- An understanding of project management principles
Duties, Responsibilities & Person Specification
Main Responsibilities
- Be a subject matter expert for designated areas (e.g. Automation, Data, Systems, Security)
- Take the lead on business process and data mapping
- Run checks against the performance of our systems, own the actions that arise
- Chair systems working groups, ensure that they are scheduled, and that actions are recorded and followed through on to the agreed time
- Work with stakeholders to identify improvements or solutions to business problems
- Understand the business requirements and design solutions that exceed expectations
- Research, design and implement systems and solutions that are appropriate
