About the Role As a Night Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for loading and unloading freight from vehicles, ensuring goods are handled safely and efficiently, and supporting the smooth running of the warehouse operation.
Please note: This role involves handling very heavy freight, including items of unusual and oversized dimensions. The work is repetitive and physically demanding.
Daily duties:
Loading and unloading freight from vehicles safely and efficiently.
Handling very heavy loads, including freight with abnormal and oversized dimensions.
Carrying out repetitive manual handling tasks throughout the shift.
Ensuring the correct freight is loaded for delivery routes.
Checking freight against relevant paperwork and scanner information.
Following manual handling procedures and health and safety guidelines.
Using the correct equipment to handle and move freight.
Reporting damaged goods or any issues to the supervisor.
Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
Following company procedures and wearing the required PPE.
Ensuring the security of freight and company property.
Supporting the team to meet operational targets and deadlines.
Requirements Previous warehouse experience is desirable.
Ability to carry out physically demanding and repetitive manual handling tasks.
Comfortable handling very heavy and oversized freight.
