About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Warehouse and Logistics Manager to lead and develop our warehouse and logistics operations at our site. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and cost-effective receipt, storage, and distribution of goods, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining exceptional service levels. You’ll take full ownership of warehouse performance, inventory accuracy, and transport coordination, working closely with colleagues across Operations, Procurement, Production, and Customer Service to deliver outstanding operational results.
What You’ll Do
- Lead all warehouse and logistics activities to ensure goods are received, stored, and dispatched safely, accurately, and efficiently.
- Oversee stock control systems, ensuring inventory accuracy and full traceability.
- Plan and coordinate outbound transport, courier management, and internal stock movements.
- Manage and develop the warehouse team, promoting a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and report on KPIs including OTIF, stock accuracy, and logistics cost efficiency.
- Identify and implement process improvements, applying Lean and 5S principles.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety standards, company policies, and relevant legislation.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, controlling costs and driving efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, hauliers, and couriers to ensure service and cost targets are achieved.
About You
You’ll be a confident and hands-on leader with the ability to inspire your team and improve performance across warehouse and transport operations. You’ll bring strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
Essential experience and skills:
- Proven experience managing a warehouse and logistics or transport operation.
- Strong knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and goods movement processes.
- Experience leading, developing, and motivating teams.
- Excellent communication, planning, and analytical skills.
- Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence.
Desirable:
- IOSH Managing Safely or CPC qualification (for transport awareness).
- Experience in a manufacturing or chemical environment.
- Familiarity with ERP or WMS systems (e.g. Sage 50, SAP, NetSuite).
- ILM or CMI qualification in Leadership or Management.
