Role: Senior Platform Engineer

Locations: Manchester (must be willing to travel to client sites throughout the UK on an ad hoc basis)

Salary: Competitive salary and package (depending on level of experience)

AI:

You’ll be expected to responsibly adopt AI‑assisted engineering practices—such as GitHub Copilot, GitLab Duo, and similar tools—for code generation, testing, documentation, and analysis.

SRE & Observability:

You’ll bring a reliability mindset to delivery, designing services that are operable by default and measured through meaningful SLIs/SLOs.

Job qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (preferably AWS/ Azure) and platform core services.
  • Strong hands-on experience in DevSecOps engineering, supporting cloud-native platforms at scale.
  • Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code, with solid hands-on usage of Terraform across non-prod and prod environments.
  • Good understanding and practical application of SRE principles (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, resilience, reliability).
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools, particularly Dynatrace (or similar tools).
  • Exposure to AIOps practices, leveraging automation and intelligence for proactive issue detection and incident reduction.
  • Experience supporting production platforms, including incident management, problem management, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers, influence technical standards, and act as a technical point of escalation.
