Hybrid Working: 3 days per week from Newcastle, Cobalt Business Park office

As a User Researcher you will work with a team of creative and passionate UX Design specialists who create user‑centred designs for digital products and services. This is a great opportunity to work across multiple clients in a range of industries and to champion user‑centred design across all products and services as part of delivery best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on planning, recruiting and conducting user research sessions to support the design and development of digital client services and projects
  • Lead the research process from developing user recruitment briefs through to conducting sessions remotely or face‑to‑face, analysing sessions, report writing and playback to your team and stakeholders
  • Align user research activities to influence and support decision making
  • Collaborate with product owners and service managers to devise appropriate research strategies that generate focused insights
  • Convert concepts and emerging findings into high‑quality stimulus material
  • Work closely with designers and developers to turn user data and insights into actionable requirements that feed into prototype development and influence product direction
  • Participate in Agile delivery teams, identifying and progressing client issues while advocating for users
  • Share knowledge, learn new skills and design transformational services with the UX & Design Team

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience as a User Researcher
  • Experience working directly with Government Design System (GDS), or to GDS standards
  • Worked as part of an Agile Scrum team
  • Comfortable advocating for users and helping the team navigate a user‑centred design process
