Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality scientific content across multiple therapeutic areas and channels
- Translate complex data into clear, accurate content meeting audience and client needs
- Own content workstreams with scientific excellence and consistent delivery
- Partner with clients and internal teams to shape content approaches for impact
- Act as a trusted scientific contributor within multidisciplinary teams
- Lead development of scientific narratives and content frameworks for consistency
- Apply critical thinking to evaluate evidence and ensure accuracy and balance
- Review and guide content produced by others to maintain quality
- Mentor and develop junior writers and editorial capability
- Contribute to editorial processes, quality standards, and ways of working
- Identify opportunities to improve content development through technology, automation and AI-enabled workflows
- Support scientific elements of new business opportunities, contributing to proposals
- Stay current with advances in science and healthcare communications to continually enhance work
Key requirements
- Significant medical communications, medical education or healthcare content development experience
- Strong understanding of scientific research, clinical data interpretation and evidence-based communication
- Experience developing scientific content for healthcare professionals and other stakeholders
- Excellent medical writing and editing skills with adaptable style and tone
- Supporting development of scientific narratives, platforms and educational programmes
- Working within pharmaceutical regulations, compliance frameworks and industry codes of practice
- Reviewing content for scientific accuracy, quality and consistency
- Collaborating effectively with account, strategy, creative, digital and client services teams
- Mentoring and developing junior scientific colleagues
- Using insight, evidence and audience understanding to strengthen content recommendations
- Experience managing multiple projects and competing priorities
