Overview
In this role, you will design and own the finance data platform core, shaping how financial data is ingested, conformed, and consumed for reporting and AI-driven insights. You will lead front-of-client design discussions, balancing governance, quality, and cost while aligning with ERP integrations and enterprise data models. You’ll work across Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir Foundry and other cloud platforms to deliver trustworthy finance data foundations. The role combines architecture, governance, and hands-on review of data models, pipelines, and reports to drive finance transformation.

Responsibilities
- Design the finance data platform architecture from ingestion to curated data sets and data products
- Lead ERP integration design with SAP, Oracle or client systems across subledgers and GL
- Define pipeline patterns (ETL, ELT, API) and determine batch vs streaming needs
- Establish governance, ownership, lineage, and data quality controls for finance data models
- Design analytics and reporting layers including semantic and metrics layer for consistency
- Guide AI-enabled capabilities (predictive forecasting, anomaly detection, AI-generated commentary) with human-in-the-loop controls
- Lead client-facing design reviews and ensure alignment among finance, technology, and data stakeholders
- Develop reusable assets and points of view to improve future programmes and mentor the team
- Balance cost and performance considerations with CFO requirements for controls and reconciliation
Key requirements
- 7+ years in finance data platform delivery or equivalent
- Hands-on with Snowflake, Databricks or Palantir Foundry and other cloud data platforms
- Experience integrating data platforms with ERP estates (SAP or Oracle) and related governance tooling
- Deep knowledge of enterprise structure, chart of accounts, master data design, and governance
- Strong analytics and reporting experience including semantic and metrics-layer design
- Exposure to AI-enabled solutions (predictive forecasting, agentic use cases) and APIs
- Proficiency in SQL; familiarity with APIs and modern data-integration tech; exposure to Python or ML platforms
- Relevant cloud-data, platform or AI certifications or professional finance/accounting qualification
- Client-facing consultant with ability to communicate architecture in business terms
- Willingness to lead multidisciplinary teams and operate across design, deployment and adoption phases
