We Are Accenture Song accelerates growth and value for our clients through sustained customer relevance. Our capabilities span ideation to execution: growth, product and experience design; technology and experience platforms; creative, media and marketing strategy; and campaign, content and channel orchestration. With strong client relationships and deep industry expertise, we help our clients operate at the speed of life through the unlimited potential of imagination, technology and intelligence.

The Role

Customer data has never been more valuable — or more complex to activate. Brands are sitting on rich signals across every channel, but most are still struggling to connect them, trust them, and turn them into real customer experiences that drive growth. Demand for this expertise has never been higher. Organisations across every sector are racing to make their customer and business data AI-ready. Clients need consultants who understand this landscape end-to-end: the platforms, the data foundations, and the AI ambition sitting on top of it.

As a Customer Data Strategy Consultant, you will help clients cut through that complexity. You will shape strategies that span the full customer data lifecycle — from how data is collected and unified, to how it powers personalisation, decisioning, and measurable business outcomes. You will work at the intersection of business strategy, data architecture, and emerging AI capability, translating what is technically possible into what is commercially valuable.

This is not a role for people who produce strategies and move on. It is for people who stay invested in the outcome — who care whether the roadmap actually gets built, whether the CDP actually activates, whether the client is genuinely better off. You bring the thinking and you drive the doing.

What You Will Do

  • Shape Customer Data Strategy
    • Define how clients collect, unify, and activate customer data across online and offline channels
    • Develop data strategies that connect directly to business outcomes — revenue growth, retention, acquisition efficiency, and lifetime value
    • Advise on data governance, consent, and privacy frameworks in an era of increasing regulation (GDPR, post-cookie, AI Act)
    • Turn ambiguous client challenges into clear, actionable roadmaps with defined milestones and measurable value
    • Help clients build the case for investment — developing business cases that resonate at board level
  • Design & Modernise Customer Data Architecture
    • Lead the design and implementation of Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), MDM systems, and CRM ecosystems
    • Guide clients through legacy modernisation — moving from fragmented, batch-driven systems to cloud-native, event-driven architectures
    • Evaluate and recommend the right technology stack across Martech, Adtech, and data platform ecosystems — with a point of view, not just a list of options
    • Architect data foundations that are AI-ready: unified, trusted, real-time, and governed
  • Bridge AI Ambition & Data Reality
    • Advise clients on how AI can transform customer engagement — personalisation at scale, GenAI-powered content, conversational interfaces, intelligent decisioning, and next-best-action
    • Assess a client's data readiness for AI and define a practical path to close the gap — covering data quality, governance, identity, and architecture prerequisites
    • Translate AI ambition into grounded strategy: you do not need to build the models, but you need to understand what makes them work and what gets in the way
    • Help clients define measurement frameworks that prove the value of AI and data investments to the business
  • Drive Product & Delivery
    • Define and manage customer data products — use case prioritisation, roadmap development, KPIs, and iterative delivery
    • Lead workstreams end-to-end, from discovery and design through to implementation and handover — you own the outcome, not just the slide
    • Work across business and technical teams as a translator: turning business requirements into data requirements, and data capabilities into business value
    • Operate in agile delivery environments, managing stakeholders at all levels from data engineers to C-suite
  • Engage Clients & Build Trust
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders — guiding decisions, challenging assumptions, and building long-term relationships
    • Facilitate workshops, present recommendations, and communicate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences with clarity and confidence
    • Contribute to business development — shaping proposals, supporting pitches, and spotting opportunities to grow client relationships

What You Will Bring

  • Required — Experience & Knowledge
    • 4+ years of experience in customer data strategy, data architecture, product management, or a related consulting discipline
    • Deep understanding of the modern customer data ecosystem: CDPs (Salesforce Data Cloud, Adobe Experience Platform, Treasure Data, mParticle), MDM, CRM, and data warehousing
    • Familiar with analytical approaches used in customer strategy: segmentation, propensity modelling, next-best-action, attribution, and customer journey analytics — ability to interpret and apply, not necessarily build
    • Knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) and modern data architecture patterns (medallion architecture, data mesh, real-time streaming)
    • Proven ability to build business cases, develop roadmaps, and communicate value to senior stakeholders
    • Practical understanding of how AI is applied to customer data strategy — from a commercial and strategic lens, not a data science one
    • Awareness of AI applications in customer engagement: personalisation, content generation, conversational AI, and intelligent decisioning
  • Preferred
    • Experience leading or contributing to CDP implementations or data platform migrations end-to-end
    • Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, and privacy regulation (GDPR, ePrivacy, cookieless future)
    • Certifications in cloud architecture, data governance, or relevant Martech platforms
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Data, or a related field

Who You Are

You are a strategist who gets things done. You are just as comfortable in a client workshop defining the vision as you are rolling up your sleeves to turn that vision into a concrete plan with owners, milestones, and accountability. When a client brings you a problem, your instinct is not to reach for a framework — it is to understand the real constraint, form a point of view, and start moving. You do not wait for perfect information. You work with what you have, make smart assumptions, and course-correct as you learn. You are solution-oriented by nature: the problem is just the starting point.

You take ownership. If a workstream is drifting, you course-correct it. If stakeholders are misaligned, you get them in a room. If the brief is unclear, you sharpen it. You care about outcomes, not just outputs — and the people around you can feel the difference.
