Automation Managers within Digital Manufacturing and Operations design and implement solutions that integrate and automate strategy, technology, data and people to enable process improvements that build value for clients.

Opportunity: Accenture seeks a Digital Manufacturing & Operations Automation Manager in the UK or Ireland to design and implement automated manufacturing operations and applications that enable operational efficiency and effectiveness. Focus areas include manufacturing execution, factory automation, robotics, asset and equipment maintenance, connected worker, AR/VR, analytics for operational and strategic decision making, and industrial IoT. This role supports clients through the full project lifecycle—from scoping and design to implementation, testing, and support—helping them achieve digital transformation and modernising plant or factory operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Help clients target and deliver value through digital transformation of factory, plant and infrastructure operations.
  • Shape, sell and deliver projects that create tangible value, including current state assessments and opportunities for efficiency, and develop technology‑enabled solutions.
  • Design application and technology solutions to enable future work models, business functions and processes.
  • Use digital technologies to enable future‑state business capabilities and drive targeted business outcomes.
  • Develop trust‑based relationships across all career levels, providing coaching and career development within the industry practice.
  • Support the sales process from origination to successful closing, including solution shaping, proposal preparation and client presentations.

Qualifications:

  • Hands‑on process and technology practitioner with experience in designing and implementing solutions in discrete or process manufacturing environments.
  • Experience analysing clients’ strategy, operating vision, business imperatives and capabilities.
  • Ability to select appropriate application, technology and infrastructure components.
  • In‑depth knowledge of factory or plant operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging digital technologies and practical application to shop‑floor processes.
  • Experience estimating technology and implementation costs and effort, using estimation tools.
  • Understanding of end‑to‑end solution design, integration and security across local, enterprise and cloud architectures.
