Responsibilities

  • Supporting the design of user‑centred digital products across web and app experiences
  • Contributing to design systems using an atomic design approach
  • Creating and maintaining components within Figma, with guidance from more senior designers
  • Applying and understanding:
    • Design tokens
    • Theming and modes (e.g. light/dark, brand variations)
    • Auto‑layout, variants, slots and responsive behaviour
  • Working with developers to understand how design systems are implemented in code
  • Applying brand guidelines while designing within shared component libraries
  • Iterating designs based on feedback from designers, stakeholders and user insight
  • Contributing to UX and UI design tasks across projects, with guidance from more senior designers
  • Helping design interfaces that feel like natural extensions of the brand, balancing creativity with usability
  • Assisting in improving existing products through thoughtful iteration and creative problem‑solving
  • Creating and maintaining design artefacts, including sketches, wireframes, user flows, screen designs and prototypes
  • Collaborating with designers, developers and researchers to deliver integrated solutions
  • Contributing to design systems, learning how to apply and evolve them consistently
  • Presenting work and thinking clearly in team settings, explaining:
    • What was designed
    • Why decisions were made
    • How feedback informed iteration
  • Supporting pitch work and client sessions by contributing design ideas and artefacts

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Some clients require background checks. You will need to complete a Baseline Personal Security Standard (BPSS) to confirm your identity, criminal record, right to work and residency
  • Comfortable with hybrid working
  • Every project is different, but we love our team to be in the studio and in our client’s office to work collaboratively

Qualifications

  • A foundation in Product / UI / Digital Design (through work experience, placements, or internships)
  • Some experience creating or contributing to design systems or component libraries
  • Familiarity with atomic design principles and how components scale across products
  • Working knowledge of Figma, including components and auto‑layout
  • An interest in how design translates into real digital products
  • A strong desire to learn, collaborate and develop your craft
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience, including 1–2 years in digital product design
  • Exposure to the full design process: planning, research, concepting, UX and UI
  • Experience working within brand‑led digital projects is a plus
  • A strong appreciation for brand, typography, colour and layout
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe CC
  • Ability to create clear, well‑considered design artefacts such as sketches and concepts, wireframes and user flows, screen designs and basic prototypes
  • Experience contributing to design systems, with an interest in how they’re built and maintained
  • Understanding of accessibility guidelines and inclusive design principles
  • Awareness of AI and emerging technology, and curiosity about how they can support better design outcomes
  • A proactive, growth‑oriented mindset – eager to learn, improve and try new approaches
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and using it to iterate and strengthen work
  • Willingness to ask questions, explore ideas and think beyond the obvious
  • A strong sense of care and pride in the quality of output
