Location: Newcastle

Hybrid Working: This role will require you to work from our Newcastle, Cobalt Business Park office 3 days per week.

As a User Researcher you will work with a team of creative and passionate UX Design specialists responsible for creating user-centred designs for digital products and services. This is a great opportunity to work across multiple different clients in a range of industries. As a member of our close-knit UX and Design team, you will champion the value of User‑Centred Design across all products and services as part of delivery best practice.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on planning, recruiting and conducting user research sessions to support the design and development of digital client services and projects
  • Lead the research process from developing user recruitment briefs through to conducting sessions remotely or face‑to‑face, session analysis, report writing and playback to your team and stakeholders
  • Align user research activities to influence and support decision making
  • Collaborate with product owners and service managers to devise appropriate research strategies that will generate focused insights
  • Convert concepts and emerging findings into high quality stimulus material
  • Work closely with designers and developers to turn user data and insights into actionable requirements that feed into prototype development, and influence product direction
  • Work as part of Agile delivery teams and possess the hard and soft skills required to participate in design and delivery and be able to identify and progress client issues while advocating for users
  • Work closely with our UX & Design Team, to share knowledge, learn new skills, and design transformational services

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience as a User Researcher
  • Experience working directly with Government Design System (GDS), or to GDS standards is essential
  • You have worked as part of an Agile Scrum team
  • You are always comfortable advocating for your users, and helping your team and stakeholders navigate a user‑centred design process
