As a Planning Engineer, I was responsible for delivering comprehensive planning and scheduling services across the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects were completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
I developed, maintained, and monitored detailed project programmes using Primavera P6, providing accurate forecasting, progress reporting, and schedule analysis to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Developed, implemented, and managed integrated project schedules throughout the complete project lifecycle using Primavera P6.
- Created and maintained logic‑driven baseline programmes, ensuring alignment with project scope, milestones, and contractual requirements.
- Monitored project progress, updated schedules with actual performance data, and forecast completion dates and remaining durations.
- Performed critical path analysis and identified programme risks, delays, and opportunities, recommending effective mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Produced regular planning reports, schedule narratives, and performance dashboards for project teams, senior management, and clients.
- Applied Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to measure project performance, monitor productivity, and support cost and schedule control.
- Conducted schedule risk analysis to evaluate programme contingencies and assess potential impacts on project delivery.
- Collaborated closely with project managers, commercial teams, contractors, site management, and engineering disciplines to ensure programme alignment and successful execution.
- Managed programme changes through robust change control processes, maintaining a clear audit trail of schedule revisions and their impacts.
- Supported NEC3 contract administration by ensuring planning and scheduling activities complied with contractual requirements.
- Performed resource loading, expenditure tracking, and forecasting to optimise resource utilisation and improve project performance.
- Facilitated project progress meetings, challenging programme assumptions and driving corrective actions where necessary.
- Mentored junior planners and promoted best practices in planning, scheduling, and project controls across multidisciplinary teams.
