About Decho (part of Accenture)

Accenture Palantir Business Group (APBG) is a deep data and AI group founded on an innate desire to create real-world change. We are consulting engineers with a purpose, offering a ‘boots on the ground’ approach to complex public and private sector challenges. As a trusted Palantir partner we help our clients to extract the most value from their technology. We are working at the cutting edge of Palantir technology and harnessing its capabilities with purpose. Our teams are united in their mission to be drivers of positive change in the world’s most influential organisations. This includes strengthening our advantage in the defence, infrastructure and public safety - empowering more public and private institutions to unlock their full potential.

The Role

As a Senior Managing Engineer - Forward Deployed / Data Engineering Senior Manager, you will operate with high individual, team and client ownership. You will be accountable for the strategy across your deployed client engagement. Leading a team of engineers, who design solutions that unify complex data landscapes, build workflows that drive smarter decisions, and partner with organisations to deliver sustainable transformation. Working directly with your clients, you will be the face of AOBG, requiring a unique blend of high emotional intelligence (EQ) and technical mastery to navigate complex environments and drive programme outcomes. You and your team will have creative freedom to architect solutions, working iteratively to build fast, demonstrate your work to clients and refine it based on real-time feedback.

What You’ll Do

  • Strategic Delivery: Take full ownership of client problem set discovery and business analysis. Accountable for strategic advisory, programme design, horizon mapping and change management. Significant ownership of enduring and successful relationships with clients.
  • End-to-End Delivery: Lead your deployment team to drive significant overarching ownership of client problems, handling everything from deep data engineering knowing that may require low/no code Palantir Foundry tooling, or Python and PySpark code repos - to building user-facing front-end applications and widgets in TypeScript or REACT.
  • Lead Client Advisory: Sit directly alongside clients, goals and requirements and translate complex technical language into stakeholder appropriate communication.
  • AI Integration: Actively embed AI workflows into existing applications using cutting-edge tools like AIP Logic Functions, AIP Analysts, and AIFDE.
  • APBG/Decho Labs Innovation: Contribute to APBG/Decho Labs to build tangible internal products. Feed your deployment learnings back into the company so our teams learn from your success and we create compounding assets of value for internally and for our clients.
  • Innate Collaboration: Manage project team, driving self-assignment of taskings, actively participate in our 'show and tell' culture through teachbacks and tech reviews and uplift your peers and wider APBG/Decho community through our highly active internal support channels.

What We Are Looking For

  • Strategic mindset: Demonstrate an exceptional level of client relationship management alignment to high level decision making individuals, alongside your technical understanding and natural leadership.
  • Problem Solvers: We highly value individuals who can navigate nuanced client environments. We care more about your ability to decompose complex use cases and architect solutions than rote memorising of coding syntax.
  • Fluency in core languages (Python, SQL, TypeScript and/or REACT) and the capability to pick up others quickly. You should understand data engineering principles, ETL pipelines, and application development.
  • Familiarity with Palantir (Foundry, Gotham, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory provided you have a strong willingness to learn.
  • High EQ.
