This is a commercially focussed, applied research role within Accenture Research’s UK and Ireland (UKI) team. The role will work across industry sectors to apply quantitative research methods to client questions. These questions may range from: How could AI affect the UKI labour market to 2030? to What might be the economic impact of nuclear fusion programmes in the UKI? and What is the quantifiable value of personalisation to UKI consumers?
We are looking for a candidate with strong economic modelling capabilities, solid data science foundations, and excellent data visualisation skills — someone who can translate complex analysis into a compelling narrative. The ideal profile is akin to a “data journalist”: rigorous in modelling, sharp in insight generation and highly effective in visual storytelling.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred; analytical disciplines advantageous (e.g., economics, natural sciences, mathematics). Equivalent demonstrated skills through work experience will also be considered.
Work experienceAt least one year of experience applying economic analysis and/or data science in commercial, policy or research settings. Experience conducting economic impact assessments (e.g., analysis of additionality, spillovers or distributional effects) in policy or third sector settings is desirable. Academic research alone is insufficient without evidence of applied analytical delivery.
Required skills- Defining creative and pragmatic analytical approaches to tackling client questions, typically within tight time constraints.
- Structuring and analysing large data sets, using Python, R, LLMs or equivalent tools alongside advanced Excel.
- Building economic models.
- Translating quantitative analysis into clear, executive‑ready visual outputs.
These capabilities will be applied across the following contexts:
- Thought leadership, providing a distinctive take on commercial and policy questions in the UK and Ireland.
- Business development, helping client teams in applying our data products and thought leadership to engage the market and win new work.
- Client research, working with clients to deliver bespoke analysis that addresses their most pressing questions.
Application deadline: Ongoing. Accenture reserves the right to close the role if a suitable candidate is found.
