By writing and editing high-quality content, the team helps advance Accenture Communications’ goals and serves as stewards of the highest editorial standards.
Position Description
The Senior Editor, Communications Editorial, helps strengthen and protect Accenture’s brand and reputation by shaping clear, compelling communications for the company’s senior leaders and most important audiences.
This role is ideal for a strategic, curious and highly collaborative writer who can quickly understand complex business, technology and reputational issues and turn them into crisp, human, executive-ready communication.
As a senior member of Accenture’s global Editorial team, you’ll work on high-visibility moments including executive engagements, major announcements, internal communications, media opportunities and client-facing events.
The ideal candidate will bring excellent writing and editing skills, sound judgment and leadership, intellectual curiosity and the ability to write with clarity, precision and voice.
Responsibilities
- Develop, write and edit CEO and senior leader communications for key moments, including major announcements, executive engagements, media opportunities, internal communications and client-facing events.
- Develop key messages, talking points, video scripts, speeches, articles, reports and social media posts for internal, external and marketplace channels.
- Collaborate with Communications leaders, business stakeholders, subject matter experts and marketing partners to shape ideas and narratives aligned to Accenture’s strategic priorities.
- Interview subject matter experts and others across Accenture to inform CEO and executive communications.
- Lead editorial workstreams for priority communications initiatives, managing inputs, deadlines and reviews to deliver high quality work under time pressure.
- Connect ideas across Accenture’s business priorities, reputation themes and strategic initiatives to develop cohesive storylines.
- Serve as an editorial thought partner to communications leads, helping pressure-test messages, sharpen storylines and ensure consistency across channels.
- Provide editorial guidance and coaching to writers and contributors to raise the quality, clarity and consistency of communications.
- Uphold the highest editorial standards and ensure application of Accenture’s style guide
- Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 6-10 years of writing on a communications or marketing team Experience in a large global enterprise strongly preferred
- A writing portfolio demonstrating executive voice, complex business topics, external messaging and strong editorial judgment
- Experience in communicating about multiple industries a plus
- Business or tech journalism experience a plus
- Experience editing and coaching more junior writers a plus
- Preferred Skills
- Exceptional writing, editing and oral communications skills – ability to produce compelling content for maximum impact
- Knowledge of core communications and editorial essentials, including strategic message development, executive communications and AP style
- Track record of conceiving and writing external messaging, including talking points, news releases, video and audio content, social media and content creation for events with multiple speakers
- Strong strategic, analytical thinking skills, with demonstrated excellence in creating and articulating positions
- Strong organizational skills, with ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Executive presence and ability to synthesize stakeholder input into sound editorial recommendations under deadline pressure
- Proven track record of ghostwriting in an executive voice
- Able to write with cultural fluency and audience sensitivity for global internal and external audiences.
- Able to use generative AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly to support research, drafting, editing and message development while maintaining strong editorial judgment and quality control.
- Able to work quickly across functions and geographies while adapting to changing timelines.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise maturity and discretion
- Experience in integrated communications, including in-depth knowledge of global digital platforms (web, mobile, social), face to-face channels, content strategy, publishing and management
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting, either civilian or military
