Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

As a DevOps Engineer, you will

  • Work as part of a DevOps team to deliver environments and tools to support the development and testing of features by Accenture and Client Teams.
  • Setup and configure tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, SonarQube and performance/security/resilience testing tools.
  • Create automated processes for development teams to apply continuous integration and continuous testing approaches.
  • Automate the provisioning of serverless integrations between different systems using their APIs.

Qualifications

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

  • Experience with one or more Public/Private cloud offerings
  • Experienced in concepts such as Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, including hands on implementation experience in one or more tools including automated software Quality Assurance (e.g. Gitlab, Jenkins, Codebuild)
  • Infrastructure as a code experience (e.g. CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Terraform)
  • Configuration management experience (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience in container setup, hosting and orchestration tools such as Docker, Docker Compose, RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Lean Software delivery methodologies
  • Experience in at least 1 common scripting language (e.g. Python, Node.js, Typescript, PowerShell, Bash)

Set yourself apart

  • Experience with DevSecOps practices, including Secrets management (e.g. HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
  • Maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines supporting frequent, reliable deployments.
  • Experience implementing security scanning in CI/CD with SAST and DAST
  • Experience with deployment strategies such as Blue/Green or Canary Releases
  • Proven track record of applying analytical and creative thought that translate into technical solutions.
  • Evidence of debugging and resolving sophisticated technical issues.
  • Experience implementing system monitoring and alerting using tools (e.g. CloudWatch, AppDynamics, Kibana, Splunk, Prometheus, Dynatrace)
  • Experience in setup and administration of Linux based environments
  • Knowledge of RESTful APIs, how to consume them and how to invoke / engage with them as part of DevOps pipelines and scripting.
