Accenture UK & Ireland is seeking a Manager to lead capital projects in the utilities sector, focusing on renewables, nuclear, energy transmission & distribution, transport, and built environment.
About the Role
As a Utilities Capital Projects Manager, you will:
- Work alongside our clients, understanding their challenges and guiding them to success with large capital project expertise.
- Use structured and innovative problem‑solving skills to find the right solution for our clients.
- Have a deep analytical capability to deliver data‑driven consulting.
- Recommend and use the best tools to answer our clients' unique questions.
- Draw insights through well‑developed quantitative skills such as financial analysis and market data analysis.
- Project‑manage and apply delivery methods such as Agile, Lean, and Design Thinking to drive success.
- Leverage relationship and stakeholder management skills to accomplish team objectives.
- Communicate with excellence (written, conversational and presentation delivery).
Responsibilities
Delivering end‑to‑end capital project services across the utilities value chain, including strategy development, innovative technology integration, and organizational excellence. You will guide clients through project lifecycle, ensuring on‑time and on‑budget delivery, and will manage stakeholder expectations.
Qualifications
- Good level of industry experience in capital projects, particularly in renewables, nuclear, energy transmission & distribution, transport, and built environment.
- Familiar with the capital projects lifecycle, engineering, procurement & construction tools and methods.
- Proficiency in contractor management, procurement, supply chain or logistics.
- Project and programme delivery for high complexity, large scale capital projects.
- Knowledge of emerging digital technologies and their impact on capital project success.
- Aptitude for data and analysis.
- Leadership experience managing teams from a delivery and personal development perspective.
- Extensive project management experience delivering high complexity projects on time and to client satisfaction.
- Strong consulting experience with excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
