Role Overview – UK Payroll Consultant: As part of a team of advisory professionals, you will deliver integrated, cloud‐based HR solutions that accelerate clients' success. Your primary objective is to implement, configure, and maintain the Workday payroll software, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and process optimization. You will collaborate with HR, finance, and IT teams to analyze requirements, develop functional specifications, and provide high‐quality solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on UK payroll industry standards and best practices, contributing to functional solutions that meet client needs.
  • Apply Workday and Accenture methodologies consistently.
  • Lead your workstream independently and report progress to stakeholders.
  • Gather requirements and understand payroll processes with stakeholders.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing payroll systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Configure and customize Workday payroll to align with business requirements.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls for accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct system testing, identify issues, and recommend enhancements.
  • Provide end‐user training and support during implementation and post‐implementation phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues, investigate root causes, and implement preventive measures.
  • Stay updated with Workday payroll functionality, new releases, and industry best practices.
  • Work cross‐functionally to integrate Workday payroll with other modules such as HR, finance, and time management.
  • Participate in payroll‐related projects, including upgrades, enhancements, and migrations.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Workday Consultant or similar role.
  • In‐depth knowledge of Workday payroll software, configuration, workflows, and business rules.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in Workday configuration tools (pay policies, pay codes, earnings/deductions set‐up).
  • Experience implementing and supporting Workday payroll solutions across the entire project lifecycle.
  • Ability to analyze complex payroll requirements and design appropriate solutions.
  • Knowledge of other Workday modules (HR, benefits) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with integration between Workday payroll and external systems (time and attendance).
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‐paced environment.
  • Ability to meet client travel requirements as needed and manage team(s) and interactions efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent; fluency in English.

  • Strong payroll background with experience in UK payroll modules of the Workday platform.
  • Workday UK payroll certifications.
  • Demonstrated professional Workday experience.
