We are looking for a BPSS Case Handler in both a permanent and 12 month FTC capacity to specialise in conducting UK Government Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks. This role supports both new joiners and existing employees moving onto projects with enhanced security requirements, where client pre-employment checks differ from standard processes. You will play a key role in ensuring security clearances are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with UK Government guidance, while providing clear communication to internal stakeholders and clients.
Location: UK - Remote
Responsibilities:
- Administer BPSS checks for new joiners and employees transitioning onto high-security UK Government projects.
- Provide timely, accurate status updates to project leads and key stakeholders.
- Work closely with project leads and HR managers to resolve cases that do not initially clear.
- Attend and lead calls with client PMOs to provide agreed updates and address issues.
- Respond to client issues and requests daily, ensuring satisfactory outcomes at all levels.
- Produce and maintain Local Work Instructions and process maps.
- Represent the business professionally when working with clients and third-party providers.
- Handle confidential and sensitive data in line with company data protection policies and UK Government guidance.
- Review and approve third-party invoices, ensuring costs align with completed clearances.
- Support the Team Lead with Business Excellence requirements.
- Provide BPSS aftercare services where required.
Skills & Experience:
- Solid administration experience.
- Experience conducting background checks, including DBS, DS, and/or National Security Vetting preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and analytically.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
