Craft: a community of data scientists, AI engineers, modellers and solution architects focused on applying AI, machine learning and advanced analytics to solve customer and growth challenges.

Our teams work across the full lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and designing solutions through to building, deploying and operating AI products that deliver measurable business value.

The Role

As a Lead AI Solution Architect, you will own the end-to-end delivery of customer-focused data and AI solutions, spanning machine learning products, generative AI solutions and agentic AI systems.

You will define the target architecture, provide technical leadership to the teams that build it, and see solutions through to live service and continuous improvement.

This could include designing an AI-powered customer service capability that reduces handling times and improves resolution rates, building a personalisation engine that recommends the next best action for customers across digital channels, or creating an agentic marketing solution that automates campaign planning, execution and optimisation.

As the technical lead, you will guide multidisciplinary delivery teams, make key technology and design decisions, manage technical risks, and ensure the solution is secure, scalable and aligned to client objectives.

You will work closely with product owners, designers, engineers and business stakeholders to turn ideas into production-ready solutions.

You’ll also be expected to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.

Working with customer experience, marketing and service leaders, you’ll help them understand how AI solutions can improve customer satisfaction, increase revenue, reduce cost to serve and deliver measurable business value.

What makes this role unique is the opportunity to apply AI directly to customer growth, marketing, commerce and service challenges, helping some of the world's leading organisations create more relevant and valuable customer experiences.

What You Will Do

  • Design end-to-end architectures for AI, generative AI and advanced analytics solutions across the customer lifecycle, spanning marketing, commerce, product, sales and customer service.
  • Define the technical architecture for customer-focused AI solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, resilient and aligned to business objectives.
  • Lead the design of AI platforms and applications, integrating machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI capabilities with enterprise systems such as CRM, CDP, CMS, DAM and cloud data platforms.
  • Make key architectural decisions covering technology selection, integration patterns, build-versus-buy approaches, security, governance, performance and operational support.
  • Lead multidisciplinary delivery teams of engineers, data scientists and AI specialists, providing technical direction from initial concept through to production deployment and optimisation.
  • Design solutions that meet responsible AI, security, privacy and regulatory requirements, including appropriate evaluation, monitoring and governance controls.
  • Establish technical standards and best practices across the AI & Modelling Craft, coaching engineers, data scientists and architects to develop their capability.
  • Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders, leading architectural discussions and communicating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support business development activities by shaping solution approaches, proposals, estimates and technical roadmaps for customer-focused AI opportunities.

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned.
